Alltel Adds Samsung SCH-u706 Muse to Lineup
Alltel Wireless and Samsung Telecommunications America today announced the availability of the Samsung Muse, a mobile phone geared towards music lovers. It will be available for purchase immediately at all Alltel Wireless retail stores and on the Alltel online store.
The Muse is a 3G CDMA flip-phone and comes in midnight blue. Although it only has 65 MB of storage capacity for songs, the Muse comes with a dedicated music key that gives customers instant access to an MP3 player, music library, ringtones, and a free trial offer to preview 20 popular satellite music channels on Alltel’s XM Radio Mobile service. According to Brian Ullem, vice president of device strategy at Alltel Wireless, "Anyone looking to use their phone as a portable music device will be thrilled with the Muse’s extensive capabilities that make their favorite songs available at their fingertips.” The Muse also features Alltel’s Axcess TV, GPS-based Axcess Mobile Guide, a 2.0 megapixel camera with video and stereo Bluetooth® technology.
In addition, the Muse supports Alltel’s new service, Axcess Voice2TXT, which is available on any Alltel Wireless text message capable phone. Axcess Voice2TXT converts incoming voicemails to text messages in the customer’s inbox and also allows customers to store and forward converted voicemails as regular text messages.
The Muse measures 99mm x 48mm x 13mm (3.9" x 1.9" x .5") and weighs in at 96g (3.4oz). It is available to current and new customers for $69.99 with a two year service agreement and after a $100 mail in rebate.
